Chinese Cigarettes Art Piece

Dimensions: 42 in x 61 in
Medium & Materials: Chinese Chunghwa cigarette packs, real cigarettes, mixed media on black background

Description:

This striking contemporary artwork explores themes of mass consumption, addiction, and cultural symbolism through a meticulously arranged composition of Chunghwa cigarette packs. The bold red and gold packaging—synonymous with prestige and luxury in China—creates a visually arresting grid, drawing attention to the allure of branding and consumer habits.

At the base of the piece, a chaotic pile of used cigarettes disrupts the structured order above, evoking excess, waste, and the consequences of indulgence. The contrast between the precision of the arrangement and the disorder of the discarded cigarettes deepens the narrative, making this piece a powerful statement on addiction and commercialization.

A thought-provoking addition to contemporary art collections, conceptual spaces, or those drawn to artwork with a social and cultural critique.
