David Manzur Londoño (1929, Manizales, Colombia) studied at the School of Fine Arts of the National University, the Art Students League, New York, and the Pratt Graphic Art Center, New York. Considered one of Colombia's leading exponents of art, Manzur has delved into figurative art and constructivism and has been strongly influenced by Spanish Baroque painters. His works depict the deterioration of the planet and human and equine anatomy.
Throughout his professional career, he has received several national and international awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship (1961), the prize at the II Coltejer Biennial (1970), the Order of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia (2005), and the Cross of Boyacá from the Government of Colombia (2019).
