Unique Work

Héctor Rojas Herazo (Colombia, 1921 -2002) is one of the most significant artists of the 20th century in Colombia, known for his contributions to literature and the visual arts. He is a fundamental figure in understanding the Colombian Caribbean. Rojas Herazo was a poet, novelist, journalist, and painter, ranked among the most essential Colombian artists. As a painter, Rojas Herazo held over sixty exhibitions in Colombia and abroad (Spain, Germany, the United States, and Canada). His painting is distinctly American within the figurative style, featuring a unique mythology composed of roosters, vendors, drummers, and flute players, which prominent national and international critics have praised.
