Unique Work

José Ángel Vincench (Holguín, Cuba, 1973) graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana in 1997. Since the mid-1990s, his work has focused on abstract expression to investigate Cuba's political and social situation, using his art as a means of recognition and accusation.

Vincench is a political artist committed to unveiling Cuba's contradictions and abuses of power. For him, art is a field of reflection and questioning, a device to awaken consciences. His work combines a critical vision of Cuban reality with an experimental and conceptual dimension, defending a harmony of subversion and an aestheticization of the political.

His works are bold and courageous, avoiding the spectacular to focus on effectiveness and visual beauty. They proclaim ethical and aesthetic commitment, reformulating politics as a contextual praxis that directly affects individuals. Through his art, Vincench acts in defense of freedom and democracy.
