Unique Work
Takashi Yukawa's work (Tokyo, Japan, 1961) reveals spiritual aspects that make it increasingly less corporeal. In his sculptures, we do not find inert objects; on the contrary, they possess a sensation of pulsating life. It is as if something spiritual is breathing freely in the air surrounding his work. Yukawa seems to attempt to give life to every detail of his creations.
Regarding the bidirectional nature of his work, where conflicting aspects such as the corporeal and the spiritual generally stand out, Yukawa's pieces give the impression that he instinctively seeks to combine two integral parts of matter into a complete unification, transcending all types of conflict. This sculptor's most important theme is bringing the pulse of life or spirituality into a harmonious and subtle environment. This could be the same sublime yet omnipresent feeling that the Japanese are hesitant to boast about openly but nonetheless profoundly appreciate.
